Definition of Occupation

Directly supervise and coordinate activities of logging workers who perform a variety of tasks such as cut down trees with hand-held power chain saws or mobile felling machines, trim off the tops and branches and cut the resulting logs into specified lengths, fasten steel cables or chains around logs to be dragged, set up and dismantle the cables and guy wires of the yarding system, sort, mark, and move logs, based on species, size, and ownership, and tend machines that chip up logs. Supervisors may also engage in the same logging work as the workers they supervise.
