Definition of Occupation

Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming.They do everything from constructing the business plan to overseeing network security to directing Internet operations. They help determine both technical and business goals in consultation with top management, and make detailed plans for the accomplishment of these goals. They direct the work of systems analysts, computer programmers, support specialists, and other computer-related workers. These managers plan and coordinate activities such as installation and upgrading of hardware and software, programming and systems design, development of computer networks, and implementation of Internet and intranet sites.
