Definition of Occupation
Occupational health and safety technicians collect data on work environments for analysis by occupational health and safety specialists. They implement and conduct evaluation of programs designed to limit chemical, physical, biological, and ergonomic risks to workers. They help prevent harm to workers, as well as property, and the environment, and the general public. They promote occupational health and safety within organizations by developing safer, healthier, and more efficient ways of working.
