Definition of Occupation
Manages business and operational functions of law firm or legal department in corporation or government agency; most work in law firms. Is responsible for planning, marketing and business functions together with overall operation of the office. Because law partners' conceptions of the role of legal administrator vary from firm to firm, may be responsible for some or all of the following: financial planning and controls; personnel administration; communications and information systems; maintaining/improving office equipment and physical facilities. May participate in planning long-range strategies and compensation of partners.
