Printing Manager  

Definition of Occupation

Manages all activities involved in the process of producing printed matter and related digitally-based communication, from customer solicitation to delivery of the finished product. May be employed in medium and large printing plants in newspaper, magazine and book publishing, legal and financial printing (includes most government printing operations) or in-house printing at a large corporation or educational institution. May be employed in large or small printing firms in commercial, specialty, package printing or quick print shops. Responsibilities differ with size of printing operation. In large printing plants may specialize in marketing and sales, cost estimating, purchasing, production, scheduling and government interface, or production coordination and quality control.
