Definition of Occupation
Designs and conducts research on human and/or animal behavior and analyzes results. May specialize in one of seven major areas (educational/developmental/experimental/social or physiological psychology; psychometrics; personality studies) or in a related field such as psychopharmacology. Might investigate how children/animals learn, how people interact and respond to social pressures or how our bodies affect our behavior. Most work in educational institutions (including medical schools) and research institutes. Many teach.
