Observes, evaluates and helps people change behavior and mental processes. CLINICAL: Assesses mental, emotional and behavioral disorders and provides treatment; assesses mental impairments (e.g., dyslexia, Alzheimer's) and helps clients function as well as possible. Clinical psychologists are likely to provide individual or group psychotherapy as well as provide recommendations regarding additional appropriate services.DO NOT CONFUSE with Psychiatrist, who has medical degree.
COUNSELING: May focus on vocational rehabilitation and counseling. Helps individuals and groups solve problems and live fuller lives. Both may specialize.
