Definition of Occupation

Authorizes various types of loans and credit (such as charge/credit card accounts, home equity or installment credit) for individual borrowers. May be responsible for approving issuance of credit cards and leasing arrangements and, more rarely, for collection of debts. May work in a bank or other lending institution, credit card company, auto company's financial subsidiary, store or dealership. Some become independent consultants. Duties and job title may vary according to size and type of lending institution.
