Professional with experience in agricultural production, marketing, finance and accounting. Contracts with farmers, ranchers, absentee landowners, businesses, corporations and others lacking expertise in agriculture to ensure productive and profitable operation of one or more farms. May serve as consultant to farmer needing assistance in financial and marketing activities. Specific duties are determined by size and type of farm or farms (up to 25 or more units) under management, policies of owner and amount of authority delegated to manager. Employed by commercial bank, farm management firm or self-employed.
