Definition of Occupation

Floral Designer: Cuts and arranges fresh, dried, or artificial flowers and foliages into original floral designs (bouquets, sprays, wreaths, dish gardens or terrariums) for events such as weddings, funerals, anniversaries, birthdays, illnesses, holidays, dances, etc. May do interior plant-scaping. Duties depend on size of shop and number of designers employed. Florist: Owns and/or manages retail shop that sells flowers and plants. Usually is floral designer as well. Some manage wholesale stores or greenhouses, but large-scale flower growers are considered horticulturalists.
