Definition of Occupation

Teaches infants, toddlers, children, youths and young adults who have disabilities and/or are exceptionally gifted. Adapts teaching techniques to special needs of students in order to help them develop their abilities to fullest possible extent. May teach in own classroom or collaborate with general education teachers. May specialize by type of disability (visual, speech/language impairments etc.), age of students (early childhood, elementary, secondary or young adult) or function (inclusion specialist, resource specialist, technology education teacher etc.). Works in public and private schools, residential and special day schools, hospitals and clinics.
