Introduces and closes programs, gives station identification, announces news, weather or sports, and reads commercial copy and public service announcements on radio or television. In some situations may ad-lib. As disc jockey, plays recorded music and comments on selections. As talk show host, introduces a topic, interviews guests and solicits input from callers. May host civic, charitable or promotional events broadcast over television or radio. May specialize in sports, weather, traffic or general news. May operate control board or other equipment.
