Definition of Occupation
Uses psychological theories and techniques in the assessment, development or evaluation of individual workers, groups or organizations or perhaps the physical design of the workplace to improve the productivity, health or safety of workers. Works in management consulting firms, private industry, government agencies, universities, independent consulting or some combination of these settings. May conduct research, consult, teach or administer large scale programs such as conducting surveys, or employee selection and training.NOTE: Commonly abbreviated as I/O Psychologist.
