Definition of Occupation

Musician: Performer who plays one or more musical instruments to entertain an audience, conducts or composes. May specialize in popular music--jazz, rock, country-western, gospel, new age, rhythm and blues, folk, Dixieland etc. Typically plays a trumpet, saxophone, piano, keyboard, drums, guitar or synthesizer etc. Or, may specialize in classical music and play a string, brass, woodwind, keyboard or percussion instrument. Teacher: Instructs individuals or groups in instrumental music in grade school through college/university, in a conservatory or privately.
