Labor Relations Specialist  

Definition of Occupation

Represents management/union in collective bargaining sessions (about pay, benefits, work schedules etc.) and disputes over working conditions or disciplinary actions. Makes sure that other side abides by agreements. Develops policies and strategies. Provides general, non-legal advice concerning labor laws, rules and regulations. Most work for employers or unionized workers. A few work in government agencies investigating violations of labor laws. Some become arbitrators/mediators but these are advanced positions.
