Definition of Occupation

Tests, installs, repairs and maintains instruments, gauges and control systems that measure and record changes of flow, pressure, level and temperature in industrial environments and that are essential in automation of complex manufacturing processes, electrical power generation, space exploration etc. Systems may incorporate hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic and microprocessor-based devices. Most employed in jobs associated with manufacturing and production; some with sales and service of instrument products. Others work in research and development or for government agencies.
