Definition of Occupation

Creates original works of art to express ideas, thoughts or feelings using a variety of materials and methods. Fine art is viewed and enjoyed for its own sake in museums, art galleries, public buildings, homes etc. Usually specializes in one or two art forms such as painting, sculpture, printmaking or electronic imaging. May also work as an art critic, consultant, administrator, director of an art gallery, curator of museum exhibit or in painting restoration. May be self-employed or employed by private and public museums or galleries, may give private or group art lessons or teach in schools from elementary through university level.
