Avionics Technician
Definition of Occupation
Services and inspects complex aircraft communication, navigation and flight control systems. Divided into two different distinct specialties: shop technician is principally an electronics technician working with aviation applications; line technician is an avionics systems analyst or integrator and aircraft specialist. Generally the two areas are not covered by the same people. May be employed by commercial or private aircraft companies, by airline and independent maintenance shops or by equipment manufacturers.
