Commercial Loan Officer

Definition of Occupation

Specializes in providing short-term commercial credit to business clients of a company or bank. Sometimes makes loans to business clients for longer periods.

NOTE: Business credit analysts in banks deal with many types of business organizations; they make recommendations that credit be extended/denied. Trade credit grantors deal only with their companies' customers and can make final decisions. They oversee collections; credit analysts in banks do not. Where information on these two groups differs, it is divided into segments headed BANKS or TRADE.
